An Art Practice Centred on Sharing Connections
My art practice is more than just a profession; it’s my way of sharing stories and connecting with the world around me.
I thrive on experimenting with bold colours and mark-making, constantly challenging myself to step outside my comfort zone.
What brings me the most joy is hearing how my work resonates with others and how they connect with my expressions and interpretations.
My inspiration comes from being present wherever I am.
Inspiration is Everywhere
It could be the shapes in the landscape, the interplay of colours and shadows, or the feelings I experience while walking through the Tasmanian rainforest or visiting galleries. Even sitting in a café, surrounded by laughter and delicious cakes, can spark my creative flow as I connect with the emotions of that moment.
Artistic Journey of Discovery
My artistic journey has been one of growth and discovery, and I draw from these experiences to inspire my students.
I believe art has the power to evoke emotions and spark conversations, and I strive to create pieces that do just that.
Artist in Residence Studio
My studio is at Quamby Estate, Hagley. I am the Artist in Residence. It is a beautiful environment surrounded by the lush Tasmanian Landscape and birds and wildlife.
My students tell me that how relaxing and peaceful they feel when they are in this space.

Art and Various Mediums
I don’t stick to a single medium because I find that variety keeps my creativity alive, and I easily become bored with the same mediums.
So, experimentation is essential to who I am as an artist.
I work with a sense of curiosity, continually asking myself how I can best convey the story I want to tell.
This leads me to choose from a range of mediums—acrylics, watercolours, oils, inks, charcoal, and more.
It seems that my selection and application is very much governed by my mood, and emotion of that moment, and the story I was to show.
A Love For Enabling Creative Growth with Students
As an educator, I’m dedicated to nurturing creativity in my students.
I encourage them to practice, push their boundaries, and embrace mistakes—the key to learning and having fun.
In my classes, we build wonderful friendships, laugh, learn, and support each other in our artistic endeavours.
My classes are weekly and are called Art Studio. I also regularly run a workshop for beginners called Fundamental Skills for drawing, sketching and painting.
A Vibrant Range Art Subject Matters
My subject matter ranges from still life and landscapes to portraits and animals – nothing is off limits.
The ever-changing weather in Tasmania often influences my choices.
Allowing the Seasons to Influence Art Making
During the warmer months, I find inspiration in the vibrant landscapes, while the cozy warmth of my studio encourages me to focus on painting still life.
Each season brings its own unique opportunities for exploration and creativity.
