You’re Invited to attend the “Oil & Ink” Exhibition
For the month of August The Crowded Lounge in Gilbert Street Latrobe will feature oils by Katherine Tyson and works in ink by Barrie McClymont in the “Oil & Ink” Exhibition.

The Exhibition Details
Oil and Ink feature a collection of images to challenge our perception of people, places and things in our world.
The space between dots, reflecting nature’s diversity and the play with images to form something new, unknown or unexpected.
Exhibition Dates
The exhibition runs from Thursday 1st until Saturday 31st August 2024.
Exploring the Exhibition
Katherine Tyson has had several solo exhibitions over the past few years.
For Barrie it is the first time he has exhibited his whimsical inks.
Katherine has always been interested in the history of art along with her love of birds and animals. Much of her work features paintings by famous artists against which are juxtaposed birds or animals.
Barrie’s inks feature variations on images of insects both real and imaginary.
“Barrie and I hope to stimulate the imagination of the viewer when confronted with different images, unusual juxtapositions and treatments of everyday subjects”, explains Katherine.
A Thought Provoking Exhibition
Katherine’s oils are mainly small works on canvas featuring seven works of Spanish dancers and seven oils based on Sydney Nolan’s Ned Kelly series.
These are ‘Black Sheep’ where the viewer is invited to consider Kelly either as a hero or villain.
Other works are local landscapes and more juxtapositions: a total of 36 paintings.
Barrie’s work is in black ink and features the creations of his imagination that are distantly linked with the reality of the natural world
