Call Out for Arts and Crafts Trails

It’s time to share your arts and crafts trails news that you have happening across Tasmania on our Facebook and Instagram pages.

Being part of an art trail or a craft trail can be loads of fun. For the visitors it is often about discovering a new artist or maker and for us creatives it is always a joy meeting our supporters, our customers.

So to help, both members and non-members, the Art Trails Tasmania socials are ready to amplify your message.

Don’t have an trail to share yourself? Then make sure you tell Facebook and Instagram (Meta) that you value the arts events news with your post likes, comments and shares so more see it.

Art and Craft Trails

This is all about supporting and celebrating all the creative small businesses (aka artists earning some income from their wonderful talents!!), artists, galleries, shops, art societies, art and craft groups and art retreats who put on art and craft trails, members or non-members.

While our members get to be listed on our What’s On directory page, Open Studio Trails, this is also available for all Tasmanian artists, galleries, cafes, shops and groups.

You’re welcome to drop links into the comments to what you’re up to, and, of course, you’re welcomed to follow Art Trails Tasmania on Facebook and Instagram.

Make Your Own Creativity Calendar

Getting along to arts and crafts trail venue can be a great way to being more creativity into our daily life.

Simply use the What’s On Exhibition directory and the listings on our Facebook and Instagram call out posts to craft your own Creativity Calendar.

What better way to spend a few hours and time with creative friends, than to get along to delightful arts and crafts exhibitions, discover some new makers and soak up the creative joy?

Links in Individual Comments

I’ve learnt from previous call outs that it is best to drop your links in Facebook in individual comments.

This makes it much easier for the links to be clicked on and followed.

It also lets Facebook show the images related to the pages, always a benefit.

Naturally enough, Instagram isn’t as helpful with links. I’d be really happy to fix this but sadly, I don’t have any influence in that area!

But you are welcomed to drop links in the post on both of the platforms.

How to Leave Details to Your Arts and Crafts Trails

Giving context to your links makes the world of difference.

So be sure to actually write a helpful description about what you’re doing.

This is all about helping you to connect to our followers, who will, hopefully, become your followers.

I’ve noticed that the comments with links that include a description as well as the link itself work much better thank those with just a page handle.

It is simply about thinking from your audience’s point of view and making it really easy for them (all of us) to understand what you’re doing and join in.

And this is especially true for any time you share a post to a Group, make sure you write a few helpful words about the content that you are sharing (whoever’s it is).

How to Earn Money from Your Arts and Crafts

To help you create a delicious sense of financial security and prosperity the Skills Sharing for Artists series of posts is especially created for you.

Strangely enough, our arts and crafts tertiary programs rarely address these vital skills.

But for all of us who want to make a living from what we love, from creating, then we all need to keep learning.

Fortunately, being part of online communities such as Patreon, Spoonflower, Shopify and co, can be like finding your own creative tribe, just as it is with being part of an arts and crafts trail!

You can find a host of helpful and practical tools, stories, blogs etc in the Art Trails Tasmania Resources area.

And, it is constantly growing!

You’re most welcome to share these skills sharing resources amongst your community too.

The Members Only Content skills sharing stories are also available via the Resources section, to access them, simply login.

You can have these stories sent straight to your inbox via our free Community Newsletter.

Is there a skills sharing story that you’d like me to put together for you? Then let me know!

Skills Sharing Stories

I want there to be more arts and crafts in our world, in our communities and in our own lives. Hopefully you’ve found this blog post useful and interesting in your creative journey.

So I’m creating, with your help, Art Trails Tasmania, allowing all of us who feel this love to create more of it.

And the Art Trails Tasmania blog is a key part of making this happen, telling the stories of members. It’s about what they have happening with workshops and classes, exhibitions, open studio trails, where to find their outlets, markets, fairs and festivals so you can shop their creations as well as their art and craft retreats.

Also being shared are the supporters of our artists, the galleries, shops, cafes, art societies and groups, places to stay and artist in residencies.
