An Exhibition of Exploration of Hidden Ecosystems

Using ceramics, porcelain, and textiles, Lange captures the delicate and often-overlooked organisms that inhabit Cradle Mountain’s Enchanted Walk.
Through miniature sculptures of mosses, lichens, fungi, and ferns, the exhibition encourages viewers to attune their “forest eyes” to the subtle beauty and vital roles these organisms play in the forest’s health.
Each piece reflects Lange’s deep connection to the forest and her commitment to preserving these fragile environments.
Visitors are invited to pause and engage with the intricate textures, colours, and forms that make up the web of life in this remarkable landscape.
The exhibition fosters a heightened awareness of the need to protect these small yet significant organisms, urging us to appreciate and conserve the living world around us.

Her practice embraces ecology, biodiversity, hybridity and the agency of the non-human. Bringing together material investigations with a mycelial imagination, refrains of the mycological, zoological and botanical are present in her hybrid inventions.
Highlighting the planets need for biodiversity, she tenderly examines redemption, restoration and renewal as her works in clay reveal nature’s infinitesimal expressions. Through her work, Christie hopes to nurture a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
