Be sure to also explore art and craft guilds for specialised classes. Many guilds with have members that are groups in various areas across the state. Both the Guild itself and the individual groups often run workshops and classes, again, for both members and non-members.

When I realised that I hadn’t been to an exhibition for over a year I setup a series of lunch catchup with friends at a cafe by the gallery and made sure I went in to see what was happening.
Getting along to workshops and classes with a friend or three is a wonderful way to spend time together, grow creatively and have fun.
A number of artists will also allow you to book a workshop just for you and your friends.

Attending workshops provides a break from the daily grind, offering a refreshing change of pace and a chance to recharge creatively.
This is probably one of the most important reasons why workshops can be so very good for your spirit.
Getting along to regular classes can be daunting, sometimes impractical with responsibilities and commitments, workshops are different.
While the kids are off with friends or family, you can get to a workshop on a weekend. And you can return the favour of having kid free time, letting your friends or family members have some time to themselves too.

Doing workshops that give us joy, creating happy memories, gives us a point in time to feel like we have lived more, created more.
