The Arts and Crafts Blog

I’m delighted to be welcome you to the Art Trails Tasmania blog.

I want there to be more arts and crafts in our world, in our communities and in our own lives.

So I’m creating, with your help, Art Trails Tasmania, allowing all of us who feel this love to create more of it.

And the Art Trails Tasmania blog is a key part of making this happen, telling the stories of members. It’s about what they have happening with workshops and classes, exhibitions, open studio trails, where to find their outlets, markets and fairs so you can shop their creations as well as their art and craft retreats.

Also being shared are the supporters of our artists, the galleries, shops, cafes, art societies and groups, places to stay and artist in residencies.

About the Art Trails Tasmania Blog

The Art Trails Tasmania (ATT) blog is where talented artists and artisans, makers and crafters, designers and creators members will be celebrated in the Artist Profiles.

Also being shared are ideas and skills, inspiration and insights, as well as tools and planners.

You’ll be able to find event news here too, what’s coming up, how to be involved and who’s doing what.

Sharing the Blog Stories

The ATT blog stories, exhibition news and event announcements are shared via our socials on Facebook and Instagram as well as the newsletters, both the members only and the ATT newsletter open to everyone.

I’m excited to be putting together periodic Artist Profile ebooks to help share the fasinating stories of our member artists.

Members can share and event news their stories through the membership hub

How to Learn More About Art Trails Tasmania

The genis for Art Trails Tasmania was actually Artist in Residence Trail Tasmania (AIRTT)  back in 2019 with the dream of arts tourism. With more people getting along to artist residencies the more opportunities for artists, supportive local businesses and hence the community would have us all flourishing.

It turns out that within weeks of starting so did the pandemic that was Covid. It simply made me get more creative with how AIRTT would work.

Really fortunately I was able to start holding the annual exhibition in Deloraine with the inaugural exhibition in 2020.

By the third exhibition in 2022 I was coming to realise that the arts tourism scope was much larger than I originally envisioned – so typically the case.

The delays and obstacles that Covid had created ended up working in my favour as I’d slowed down and listened more to you, the artists and the supporters.

So Artist in Residence Trail Tasmania has grown into Art Trails Tasmania.
