All About the Exhibition

As a colourist at heart, Robyn doesn’t separate drawing from colour and doesn’t treat the subject as the most important element of her work.

What matters in her creative process is the way the painting makes Robyn feel.

Colour leads the way and mood follows.

Robyn’s exhibition WILDWOOD opens at the Lady Franklin gallery on Friday 6 February 2026 at 6pm and runs for the month of February.

Meet Tasmanian Artist Robyn Malcolm

Robyn is an accomplished artist, first studying as a fashion designer at the Paris-American Academy in Paris.

Her colourful knitwear won her awards and she featured in exhibitions around the world, including Australia, the Contemporary Art of Dress, Victoria and Albert Museum, London, and the Australia Contemporary Art of Dress, in Tokyo and South Korea.

Her work was featured in Australian Vogue, New York Woman and the New York Observer.

Robyn moved away from fashion design and her current work focuses on pastel drawings and oil paintings.

Her first solo art exhibition CHROMATOPIA was held in 2022, and in 2024 Robyn won the drawing prize in the ‘Art on Show’ competition.

A Colourist Exhibition to Delight

The spirit of her current exhibition Wildwood is enjoyment, spontaneity and trusting instinctive colour choices.

Wassily Kandinsky said that “colour is a power which directly influences the soul” and Robyn brings that emotional energy into her works.

The Lady Franklin Gallery, located in the Greek Temple in Ancanthe Park, Lenah Valley is open every weekend between 11am and 4pm.

Robyn will be in the gallery each day and would love to talk about her work.
