Creative Workshops for Kids
This event is for creative kids aged 8 to 12 who love making, drawing, or decorating and for parents looking to offer a meaningful, hands-on holiday experience.
Whether your child is a budding artist or just curious to try something new, these workshops offer a joyful blend of learning and play.
Led by professional local artists, each 90-minute session is designed to build confidence, inspire imagination, and give children the satisfaction of creating something they can truly be proud of.
Kids Exploring Their Creativity
Kids will explore real techniques in drawing, ceramic painting, and cupcake decorating using high-quality materials in a warm, encouraging environment.
The joy comes not just from the activity itself, but from the pride kids feel when they see what they’ve created.
Whether it’s a framed drawing, a glazed and fired plate, or a beautifully decorated cupcake box, they’ll head home smiling with something special to keep (or gift). Creative fun, lasting memories!
Jacquelyn Mansell Paints Tasmania’s Spirit With Heart and Purpose
Jacquelyn Mansell captures the wild beauty of Tasmania through soulful landscape art that connects artist viewer and place in a deeply meaningful way.
Three Talented Tasmanian Artists Leading the Workshops
Three talented East Coast creatives will be guiding these special workshops:
- Jane Seychell,
- Christie Lange, and
- Irina Pipenko
Jane Seychell
Jane Seychell is a coloured pencil artist and gallery owner, known for her rich, detailed works and love of expressive line and form.
Her calm teaching style helps kids feel confident as they explore drawing techniques and create a finished, frame-worthy artwork.
Christie Lange
Christie Lange is a ceramic artist whose nature-inspired sculptures and tableware are collected and exhibited throughout Tasmania.
In her workshop, she brings her passion for clay to life, showing kids how to decorate their own plate using colourful ceramic underglazes.
Irina Pipenko
Irina Pipenko is a baker and cake artist with a flair for creative, delicious design.
She’ll teach kids how to use piping bags and decorations to turn cupcakes into edible artworks.
Each artist brings their own warmth, skill, and encouragement to create a supportive and exciting environment for kids.
Calling Curious Creative Spirits
These workshops are perfect for children with curious minds and creative spirits.
Each medium, drawing, ceramics, and cupcake decorating, offers a different way for kids to express themselves and learn new skills.
Jane Seychell’s coloured pencil drawing workshop teaches observation and careful hand control as children create detailed designs they’ll be proud to frame.
Christie Lange’s ceramic plate painting offers a hands-on experience with clay surfaces and underglazes, where kids will enjoy experimenting with brushwork and colour while learning how ceramics are professionally glazed and fired.
Irina Pipenko’s cupcake decorating class offers tactile fun with sweet rewards, teaching kids to handle piping bags and edible decorations while thinking about colour, design, and presentation.
Building Focus & Confidence, Problem Solving Skills
These creative mediums are fun and engaging but also help children build focus, problem-solving skills, and confidence in their abilities.
By the end of each session, every child will walk away with a tangible, finished creation and a big smile.
